It looked like spring had arrived but then we got a spell of colder weather in Scandinavia again. The good news is that it gave me a chance to take my latest commission on a maiden voyage. A DB in a Holland & Sherry tweed, done by Götrich 1730 in Stockholm. Bespoke jacket from Götrich, shirt from Drake’s, Brioni tie, noname ps, pants from Berg & Berg and Allen Edmonds shoes. Scent: Mona di Orio Santal Nabataea.

This jacket is my first garment in pure Escorial wool. The wool comes from a small type of sheep, Mahgreb sheep (see the last picture), that originated in North Africa. In 16th century Spain it was a favourite sheep of the King who kept a flock at his monastery, El Escorial, hence the fabric’s name. The Spanish sheep where lost during the Napoleonic wars but since King Carlos of Spain in 1765 gave a hundred sheep to his cousin in Saxony, a small flock of pure breeds remained in Germany. Time for winter hats

Since my wife isn’t in town my son took a few pictures. I think he managed pretty well. Still snowy in Geneva. Too cold actually to be outside without a coat. DB suit from Fallan & Harvey, shirt and ps from Drake’s, Shibumi tie, Bugatti hat and shoes from Alden. Click on the headline for more pics.

Last days of the winter holiday. Spent a snowy day visiting the famous Château de Chillon outside of Montreux. No explanation was given for the slightly creepy effigy on the way to the castle. Maybe they have occult sacrifices here. Jacket from Arnys, Drake’s shirt, tie from Howard’s, Calabrese ps, Berg & Berg pants and Red Wing boots. Click on the headline for more pics.

Christmas Attire

Spent christmas in the Berner Alpen in Switzerland (in a village called Mürren, famous because it was the location for the Bondmovie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service). I’m shamelessly using the scenery overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley to enhance my fit. But it was what I actually wore for christmas eve, lots of greens and reds. Tweed jacket and corduroy pants from Bladen, polo from Faherty, Drake’s scarf, Monitaly cap and boots from Red Wing (Ice Cutter). Click on the headline for more pics.
